Balos- Gramvousa daily cruises

The famous lagoon of Balos is about 56 km northwest of Chania and 17 km northwest of Kissamos. It is a shallow sandy beach formed between Hersonissos of Gramvousa and the smaller Cape Tigani. Balos is definitely one of the most talked about and visited beaches in Crete.  It is famous for its turquoise waters, wild natural beauty and exquisite striking scenery.  The lagoon of Balos has white sand and exotic white, deep blue-green waters. The sea is very shallow and warm, which is an ideal destination for families with young children. In many places the sand has a lovely pink color that has resulted from crushed shells. Beyond the rocks the deeper and cooler waters make for ideal snorkelling. The surrounding area has rare species of flora and fauna as it is considered part of the Natura protection program.  The beach is organized as well as having a small canteen. The distance from Kissamos port is about 1 hour.

Gramvousa Daily Trips
Gramvousa is the name of two small islands of Crete. The two islands (Imeri Gramvousa and Agria Gramvousa) are located in the northwestern part of the Prefecture of Chania. They are located in the municipality of Kissamos.At the eastern tip of Crete, there are two islands Wild and Imeri Gramvousa. Imeri Gramvousa is famous for its beautiful beach, the wreck of a cargo ship, as well as its Venetian castle (built by the Venetians in 1579-1584 to help protect the island against the Turks). The fortress is built at a height of 137 meters on a steep flat hill with access from the eastern side where a helical path is formed. It is worth visiting to see the incredible view over the fortress. You may visit the beautiful beach with clear blue waters where you can swim and sunbathe. Unfortunately, there is no infrastructure in the area where you can get food or water.  However, we do offer some snacks and refreshments on board to take care of the necessities. The distance from Kissamos port is about 1 hour.

Menies is located in Cape Spathas, 45 km from Chania. It is a beautiful beach with deep clear crystal blue water. The boat trip to Menies is pleasant and beautiful. Unfortunately, there is no infrastructure in the area where you can get water or food.  However, we do offer some snacks and refreshments on board to take care of the necessities. The beach is not organized, though you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing. It is an ideal place to snorkel, as a variety of fish inhabit these waters. This is also the site of ancient Diktynna, which was a temple of the goddess Vritomartis who accepted the faithful of the island. There are still some remains of the ancient Roman temple to this day. The distance from Kissamos harbor is about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Kythira, also known as the oldest Venetian name Cerigo, is an island located in southern Greece, south of the Peloponnese and south of Elafonisos and Cavo Malia. Plato says that in mythology was the island of the goddess  Aphrodite (which stands out from Aphrodite Pandimos) and Eros. Kythira is located in southern Greece, between the Peloponnese and Crete, at the point where the Ionian, Aegean and Cretan seas meet. It is an elongated island with a length of 29 kilometers and a width of 18 kilometers. They have an area of ​​277,746 square kilometers. The length of its shores is about 90 km. At the northern end of the island is the lighthouse of Moudari, built in 1857 from English, while in the port of Kapsali, there is a lighthouse built in 1853. On the island there is a large number of attractions, most of them numerous and scattered in close proximity to each other, traditional villages and hilly scenery. There are many Byzantine and Venetian monuments and some English. The main attractions are:

• Chora with its traditional narrow streets, its architecture and its castle. It has been characterized as a traditional settlement.

• Kapsali, the port of Chora with twin bays, the center of entertainment on the island. Opposite Kapsali is the rocky island of Egg or Chitra with a visiting cave.

• Paleochora, the ruined Byzantine capital of the island and Kaki Lagada, the exit of the large gorge of Paleochora south of Ag. Pelagia.

• Mylopotamos, a traditional village to the west with the waterfall of Fonissa and the medieval Kato Chora with the Venetian castle, the impressive landscape and the preserved Byzantine chapels inside the castle. Both Mylopotamos and Kato Chora have been characterized as traditional settlements.

• Avlemonas, a quiet little harbor with a small Venetian castle.

• Medieval Aroniadika and the sequence of traditional villages in the center of the island.

• The bridge at Katunay, built by the English in 1829, was the largest of its kind in Greece.

• On the island there is a large number of old temples and monasteries from the 13th century onwards. Three monasteries, Panagia Myrtidiotissa, patron saint of the island, Agia Moni and Agia Elea are situated on opposite mountain peaks. At three places there are temples in caves.

• The main beaches are Diakofti, Palaiopoli, Kaladi, Ocheles, Fyri Ammos, Melidoni, Kapsali, Agia Pelagia, Fourni, Copos, Kombonada and Platia Ammos.

• Free camping is available in the areas of Palaiopoli and Sparagaria, and organized in the Kapsali area.

You can taste the traditional dishes and dishes of the island in the taverns that are along the way, like your coffee and your drink, in various cafe-bars of the island.

The duration of the trip is estimated at 5 hours, with an overnight stay on the boat and departure whenever you wish. Up to 6 people.

Antikythira or Tsirigoto (from the Venetian Cerigotto), is a small (20sq. km) barren island between Kythira and Crete. The patron saint of this island is Agios Myronas, whom the inhabitants celebrate on 16 and 17 August. It is 38 km southeast of Kythira and 26 nautical miles from Kasteli, Crete.

Antikythira has a rich history with ancient ruins and natural beauty. It is an ideal place for those who want to relax and experience life without modern conveniences.  There are two scenic taverns that are located at Potamos.  Here you can taste traditional delicacies such as local horseradish, pure organic local honey, Antikythira local wine and of course delicious local fish. The picturesque beach of Xiropotamos, is located 5 minutes by boat, or 30 minutes by foot if you prefer to walk. You may also enjoy the unspoiled waters at Kamarelas as well as the crystal clear waters at Halaras.  It is a miracle of nature, where swimming in the sea becomes a true pleasure. Visitors of the island can visit the ancient site of "Kastro". The distance from Kissamos harbor where we depart is about 3 hours. Up to 10 people.

Agios Pavlos

Agios Pavlos is a beautiful seaside beach located in a picturesque bay at Rhodopou (or Spatha), 40 km northwest of the city of Chania. The old monastery of St. Paul has given its name to the shore that stands out for its pebbles as well as its blue-green deep cold waters.  The monastery is famous for its frescoes and inscriptions by pirates, fishermen and Venetian rulers. There is no infrastructure in the area where you can get food and beverages.  Besides the snacks and refreshments we offer on board, it may be a good idea to arrange for any extra meals you may want.  The beach is not organized, however you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing. Snorkelling gear would be ideal to enjoy the pristine water and the variety of marine life. The distance from Kissamos harbor is about 45 minutes.
